Memorial Day Week

Memorial Day turned into a Memorial Day Week of fun! Leading up to the long weekend we had a great visit from our friends Melanie, Lauren and Braedan. They came over after work one day and the kids played while Mel and I enjoyed some time to catch up...we live so close together, but we don't get to see each other all that much...so it was a visit that was well needed. Kate loves to just watch other kids and she just smiles and takes in all that they are doing.

Another fun event was a quick ride around the yard with Kate and Dave on his new John Deere Lawn Mower. Thank you tax return that we could get this so Dave could get yard work done faster on the weekend. We have a protected tree line in our backyard so there is a small lot behind ours that Dave has been up keeping to make our yard larger than what our property line is...we love it, but it is a lot of hard work. Kate loved to put her hands on the steering wheel and move it back and forth.

Well, everyone has seen on our blog that Kate loves to swing so her Grandma Moore found a BRAND NEW swing at a yard sell for $5 for Katie Kate. Dave hung it in our back yard, under the deck and Kate LOVES it! It is a high light of her day...we use it pretty much every day...even our neighbors little girl has enjoyed it. Fun Fun Fun!

For Memorial Day Weekend we went to a cook out at our neighbors on Saturday, enjoyed some baby pool time on Sunday and did projects around the house on Monday...and relaxed! Kate was invited to our neighbors house to play with Molly and Ella in the baby pool. Kate loved the water and just watched as the other girls ran around the pool and slid down the slide. I think she sat int he same spot for about 30 minutes...splish splashing! We had a great long weekend and loved having Dave home for an extra day to play!
